Tough Treadz Auto Carrier recall, Feb 4 update

By Peter Chubb - Feb 4, 2015

Towards the end of November, which was the build-up to the holiday season there had been a great concern for children’s safety in regard to the Tough Treadz Auto Carrier. These toys were being sold at Family Dollar Stores and no doubt saw sales of these products fall heavily. Now that we are on Feb. 4 with thought that an update was in order, and you will be pleased to know that a recall has now been issued.

The reason for the concern in the first place was due to the risk of laceration because there are sharp edges, something that is not acceptable, especially as this is a toy meant for children 3 years and older.

Consumers are asked to stop using these Tough Treadz Auto Carrier toys with immediate effect, so that means taking them away from children. Having said that, we are sure when they first learned of this concern back in November, they were taken away just in case.

You should now take this toy to any Family Dollar Store for a full refund, which last time we looked cost $5. This will end up costing the store a huge sum of money, seeing as though 254,000 units have to be recalled, although we are sure they have already contacted the Chinese supplier.

If you are not too sure what particular toy this is, then just look for the one you purchased from that store that is a truck made from plastic with 6 die-cast metal toy cars inside, and comes inside a plastic case.
