Clash of Clans Jan 7 maintenance break ends gem boost

By Daniel Chubb - Jan 7, 2015

You might be enjoying the 1 gem boost in Clash of Clans right now, but it comes to an end today with a maintenance break at some point on January 7, 2015. Normally, we see the Clash of Clans maintenance break take place early in the UK morning, or very early for USA, but today that schedule hasn’t taken place.

We will also receive a short warning about the Clash of Clans servers becoming unavailable and then they go down for under an hour. Yesterday, the official Twitter gave a warning hours in advance and explained there’s “one day left”. The tweet can be seen below this article, which details the one gem boost will be “disabled tomorrow”.

As you can see below, the reminder also mentions a “maintenance break” for Jan 7 and seasoned players know this follows the developers traditional format. There’s always a small amount of downtime for changes like this, although on occasion problems take place that extend the downtime into an outage if things don’t go to plan.

Have you seen the Clash of Clans maintenance break take place today and if so, how long were you unable to play for? We will update our readers once the break starts and of course if there’s any problems, although leave a comment below with your status updates. You can also read about the expected Jan 2015 update in another article.

Update: Moments ago a tweet landed explaining this is your “Last chance to boost those buildings”. The CoC maintenance break will be starting very soon, so be ready to say goodbye to that one-gem boost event.
