There should be a Call of Duty Advanced Warfare 1.09 update today on PS4, which follows what looks like a Ranked Play preparation patch on older consoles. While the full notes aren’t live just yet for PS3, it’s believed the recent download got the game ready for COD Advanced Warfare Ranked Play Season 1 to deliver new rewards, and divisions broken down into different ranks based on player performance.
If you have played the Ranked Play mode already before Season 1 starts, then you know players are grouped into two teams of 4 and battle each other in multiplayer games like Hardpoint. This particular mode has a number of rotations, so you can either play with 3 friends, or head online alone and join in with a random team.
COD Advanced Warfare PS4 update 1.09 today – this is the next version number and the same is expected on Xbox One at some point today, or at the latest before Ranked Play’s start date on Jan 9.
We have seen the PS3 patch go live within the last 3 hours, although at the time of writing PS4 systems state “the installed application is the latest version”. Checking the update history reveals 1.08, as the latest version and we shouldn’t have to wait much longer until a new download appears.
Most PS4 systems will have automatic download turned on, so the update should install automatically. We will update this article once the 1.09 Advanced Warfare PS4 update file size is revealed, also with the detailed patch notes.
You shouldn’t expect detailed information on the PS4 system within the update history, as it only states “bug fixes” for every install since 1.01 to 1.08.
If you have seen the Advanced Warfare update go live on PS4 today, then leave a comment below and let us know what bug fixes you would also like to see in this patch? Personally, we’d like to see the random freezing fixed that we saw first hand on our PlayStation 4.
Update: It looks like this patch never arrived and the previous generation update focused on improvements to those systems only. It’s worth noting that the latest update normally hits current generation systems first, PS4 and Xbox One, then these improvements are included in a last-gen update at a later date.
