If you are playing Grand Theft Auto V on New Year’s Eve, then you might be hoping it’s snowing and we have seen the UK, and US, hunting for snow this New Year. The reason gamers get a second chance to attain the Festive Surprise gifts, is due to PSN servers going down over Christmas Day, but up on December 31.
Is GTA V snowing for New Year? This is the question players have asked in the last hour on both Twitter and the official Rockstar blog. It’s clear there’s no GTA V snow in USA EST at around 1AM on Dec 31, and we haven’t seen anything at 7am in the UK when going on multiplayer in GTA Online version 1.22.
The current update file is at 1.06 on PS4, and 1.20 for PS3/Xbox, but it won’t take a new patch to see snow again. This can be added on the server side thanks to everything in place with the last update.
We’ve also heard from Product Reviews readers just over an hour ago that want to see snow in GTA V once again, especially considering they missed out during the server problems. One reader said, “I think we deserve for it to snow in GTA 5 again, it’s nice seeing the Festive content up for grabs, but the icing on the cake would be for it to start snowing once again.
Is it snowing in GTA V for you today and if so, what city and timezone are you in? We just tried to look one more time before publication, but received the message “There has been an error joining a session, please return to Grand Theft Auto V”. We can confirm that it’s not snowing in GTA V right now though, thanks to feedback from our readers.
