This article has been updated thanks to an update by Sledgehammer Games, which basically confirmed Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Double XP has been extended for 24 hours longer until Tuesday, December 30. This is for the new One Shot mode aimed at sniper gameplay.
Original Article: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare now includes a new mode called One Shot in online multiplayer, which arrived in the game yesterday. If you have played this new mode, you’ll know it’s all about team work and comes with Double XP in COD Advanced Warfare all weekend.
The One Shot mode is for sniper weapons only, although players have specific classes and decreased health. If you think snipers are your thing and you believe in your skills, then this new custom mode will test them thanks to the classes being targeted at putting sniper players through their paces.
You will find each class including a MORS bolt-action railgun sniper rifle and selected Exo abilities, Scorestreaks, and perks designed perfectly for One Shot. There’s also no secondary weapons, so when you make a shot it must count.
Update: Sledgehammer Games said the Advanced Warfare Double XP is for the weekend only, and is planned to end on Monday, December 29. We have heard from Sledgehammer after the PSN sign-in problems, and we could see the 2X XP last longer than the weekend.
Sledgehammer is “monitoring” the PSN downtime and problems getting online with PS4 and PS3 consoles. They will “extend 2XP in One Shot if” the PSN problems are ongoing, so there’s a strong chance they will continue after Monday.
Have you been able to play the new custom ONE SHOT mode in Advanced Warfare and take advantage of Double XP this weekend?
Update: The developer has confirmed what we thought would happen after issues with both PSN and Xbox Live this weekend. The Double XP event has been extended by 24 hours and this is the tweet left a few hours ago, “Hope you are enjoying our new #AdvancedWarfare game mode, One Shot. 2XP has now been extended in the mode +24hrs until Tues 12/30 9am PST”.
