We have some important information for those of you who are looking forward to picking up Square-Enix’s new Final Fantasy game. We haven’t heard any Final Fantasy 15 news for a while, but we have some key info now regarding the highly anticipated Final Fantasy 15 demo release date on PS4 and Xbox One.
We last spoke about the demo in September, when we told you that the first taster of the long-delayed game (previously Final Fantasy Versus XIII) was directly attached to the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD – that being a port of the PSP original of course, finally in English.
Now we can bring you an update on the situation, but it’s not necessarily good news. Square-Enix has now confirmed that the demo is only going to be available if you pick up the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Day-One edition, as it won’t be available in later batches of the game after launch.
Furthermore, Square-Enix has point blank said that buying Type-0 HD is the only way to play the Final Fantasy XV demo on PS4 and Xbox One – in other words, they are never going to make it a standalone release.
Some may be unhappy about this move from Square-Enix, but then again business is business and there’s no greater business for them right now than the launch of Final Fantasy XV.
We still have high hopes for the game after such a long period of development time and something still tells us it is going to be well worth the wait.
Remember, the demo launches on March 17th, 2015 so that’s the first opportunity that you will have to try out Final Fantasy XV. There’s still no release date attached to that game, but the demo itself is thought to offer several hours of gameplay so it will be well worth the pre-order.
Are you going to be getting the Day One Edition of Type-0 HD or not?
