If you are wondering why StarCraft 2, World of WarCraft, Hearthstone, and a few other games are still down today and displaying a maintenance message, then Blizzard has recently clarified the situation. It seems they run into a few problems with the maintenance time for these games, as such they have run overdue by around one hour.
Around one hour ago, Blizzard Entertainment for North America left a couple of tweets that pointed out that the games should be up in around an hour. The exact message stated, “maintenance will be extended”. This included WoW, StarCraft 2, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Diablo 3, and Heroes.
Another tweet shortly followed on the same Twitter account, which gave an exact time for the servers to come back up. While the servers have been unavailable for a longer period than some expected, Blizzard said the games will be back online by 1pm PST. This works out at 4PM EST, or 9PM in the UK.
Are you still having problems with any of the above mentioned games and if so, is it due to maintenance still? Hopefully, everything will be back online at the said time.
Update: The latest tweet simply said, “Maintenance has been extended until 1pm PST”. For now, you might want to read about the upcoming Hearthstone GVG release.
