Review of Polaroid 32 and 40-inch HDTV specs

By Peter Chubb - Nov 26, 2014

It is not very often we mention Polaroid as a whole because they do not release that many products throughout the year. However, with Christmas looming people will be looking for gifts for loved ones, and thanks to competitive pricing a Polaroid 32-inch or 40-inch TV could fall well within your budget.

We have already seen the likes of Asda tease these two TVs as part of its huge sale event, although they have yet to reveal a price for each model. Saying that, they have not even detailed what models they will be. However, a quick look around shows one model number for each TV size, and those are the Polaroid 3-32-LED-14 and LE-40GCL.

Both are very much the same in terms of design, although there are slight changes to their specs. Take the Polaroid 3-32-LED-14 32-inch HDTV, which comes with a 720p display to deliver a premium picture quality.

Polaroid HDTV

This model comes with a maximum of 16:9 aspect ratio, 1366 x 768 resolution, although it is 480i/480p/720p/1080i/1080p compatible, it just cannot produce the highest of those numbers. As for connections you get 3 HDMI inputs, 1 component and 1 VGA. This TV is only ever going to be one for the kitchen or bedroom, although we pretty much knew that already. More details can be found here.

As for the Polaroid LE-40GCL 40-inch TV, this is a Full HD 1080p model and has more to offer in the way of connections, You will be pleased to see 3 HDMI ports, a 4000:1 contrast ratio, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. More details on this model can be found at Asda, although they don’t have any stock. Having said that, there will limited stock in your local store very soon so you had best make sure you are there and ready.

Both TV’s do come with Smart features, and with a big discount expected we are sure these will sell like hot cakes.

I purchased 2 tvs in Nov ’14. 1 32″ polaroid and 1 40″ polaroid. The 32″ lasted just 13 months before breaking 😣 (which cost me money for a replacement) the 40″ has gone this week (17 months is all it has lasted) 😡😠
I will never purchase this make again.
They just barely survive the warranty period and I now have to replace another!
Disgusting travesty of an excuse for a manufacturer. Asda are not much better selling items with such poor record of faults. I think they should honour the refunds personally it’s no better than a rip off selling such substandard goods with such a record of faults. Oh well you live and learn.
