The agonizing wait for a Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update release date is starting to cause frustration. Some users simply cannot wait for Samsung to deliver an official update, which is why some are now turning to other sources with a Galaxy S5 AOSP build download.
We’ve already told you about the rumors suggesting that the official Galaxy S5 Lollipop rollout date will be sometime in December.
However we’re yet to see Samsung comment on the matter, presumably not to get the hopes up of those who are expecting Samsung to deliver before the end of the year.
Alternatives are already available though for those that don’t mind to indulge in a spot of underground dwelling. Specifically, a post has just gone live on the XDA Developer forums, offering a Galaxy S5 Nexus Experience ROM that the creator is claiming to be close to the real thing.
The user Shawn1562 also adds that this build is comprised of a combination between AOSP and Cyanogen Mod 12. Two important factors though in this build, is that as it stands, the Camera and NFC are not working.
As a result, you may want to hold off until Samsung are ready with an official update, especially if you don’t know what you are doing.
If you do try to attempt to install this, obviously you should backup your data as the responsibility is yours alone.
With that said and done, let us know your thoughts on the wait for the Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop launch date. The longer it goes on, do you get tempted by unofficial versions such as this one?
