This is why some of these users wanted to disable the touchscreen in Windows 8.1, especially in regard to one Dell Inspiron 15.6 laptop user that just didn’t want to use this option.

The Dell Inspiron i15547-5033sLV is one such laptop with a 15.6 LED-backlit touchscreen, so to disable this within its 64-bit Windows 8.1 isn’t such a hard task if you know where to look.
In a nutshell, you basically pull up the Device Manager and locate the correct Human Interface Device. From here, it’s just a matter of disabling the right devices and this will also bring up a warning message explaining it will stop working if you disable.
Once this is done on your Dell Inspiron 15.6 laptop, your touchscreen will stop working and to active again you should head to the same device again, then enable.
