We have another laptop to recommend now, for those that are thinking of upgrading to a better laptop, but at a cheap price during the Holiday period. ASUS continue to be a popular choice and with this in mind, we wanted to give you a heads-up on a ASUS X550LA-SI50402W 15.6-inch laptop review which features Intel Core i5 specs.

We have already told you about the ASUS 15.6-inch X551CA-BI30804C laptop which features similar specs to this one, but is ultimately slower with a older processor.

ASUS X550LA-SI50402W specs for this model however includes a speedy 4th generation Intel Core i5-4200U processor, with 1.6GHz speed and turbo boost up to 2.6Ghz.

There’s 4GB of RAM on board which is upgradable to 8GB, a 500GB hard drive and graphics is handled by the UMA Intel HD Graphics 4400 system – again better than the ASUS X551CA-BI30804C model which only comes with Intel HD 4000 graphics.

Elsewhere, there is a DVD drive, webcam, HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, 802.11n WiFi and a copy of Windows 8 64 bit version.

In summary, it is a very decent laptop indeed and more than capable in terms of casual usage. For those that want to know if the ASUS X550LA-SI50402W can play high-end PC games, the answer to this will be no – you’ll need a dedicated graphics card from AMD or NVIDIA for that.

With an Intel Core i5 chip and 4GB of RAM on board though, this is still a very fast laptop and one of the highlights is that it will not heat up as easy as other laptops do.
