Review of Nikon Coolpix P530 with camera specs

By Peter Chubb - Nov 19, 2014

If you have had enough of compact cameras, but are not ready to take the jump to DSLR, then the next logical step would be a bridge camera, and one that you should consider is the Nikon Coolpix P530. This is because it is not the newest model on the block but still has impressive specs, which therefore means you could get yourself a great bargain.

What we find so extraordinary about this model is its 42x optical zoom, which can be seen in action in the first video below this article. Depending on the conditions the lens will focus in on the subject when fully extended, although you will lose some quality when using the Dynamic Fine Zoom, giving you up to 84x, which is pretty insane.

There is far more to this Nikon Coolpix P530 16.1-Megapixel Digital Camera than its impressive zoom though, although only coming in black makes this model look a little bland. The camera takes superb pictures, which is also thanks to its preset programs, shutter priority, and also the aperture priority. There is manual mode for those who are able to create superb images without limitations of relying on the auto modes.

You can create Full HD 1080p videos thanks to its video recording feature; a fine example of this can be seen in the second video below. It runs for around 8 minutes and is a full video test putting the Nikon camera through its paces.

If you would like to learn more about this camera, then the third and final video is a hands on review. We first learn all the main features, as well as a look at the display and finally how it performs in some real-life tests. We hope this information was of help to you. However, if you were looking for another bridge camera, then we would suggest the Canon PowerShot SX520 HS.
