We told you here that some people were already playing GTA V on PS4 early ahead of schedule. It was always going to happen, but now with the game almost ready to launch officially, attention has now turned to whether GTA V Share Play on PS4 is confirmed or not.
Most of you will be aware that while Share Play was possible on great games such as EA’s FIFA 15, however Activision decided to block Share Play with COD Advanced Warfare completely.
There are some fears that Rockstar and Take-Two may take the same path with GTA V on PS4, but others are optimistic that Rockstar’s glowing reputation will shine through.
This week we’ve been hearing rumors suggesting that GTA V Share Play is working and there are no restrictions in place whatsoever. The rumors mentioned here however contain no source so we are unable to take it seriously at this point.
So far, there has been no confirmation on Share Play working from Sony or Rockstar, but hopefully it is for the right reasons. The fact that COD Advanced Warfare was blocked has now created an element of doubt in the minds of some gamers.
In actual fact though, Share Play is a default feature of PS4 as of the 2.0 system update so technically all games should support based on Sony’s guidelines.
Publishers have the option of restricting access though, or in Activision’s case – remove the feature completely. The fact that we haven’t heard anything from Rockstar is hopefully an indication that they don’t feel the need to speak up as it is a system feature rather than a special case.
Have you seen a confirmation that GTA V Share Play is confirmed based on an early copy? What would your reaction be if GTA V on PS4 offers complete support via Share Play with no restrictions?
