We have some important information for those of you who are preparing to pick up Super Smash Bros on Wii U. It has been a long and anxious wait for the game’s release, but now we are pleased to confirm that there will be a Super Smash Bros Wii U preload option available.
Nintendo has seen the benefits and positive reception that Sony and Microsoft have both received, after they changed their strategy to allow the preloading of games prior to release.
Now Nintendo are getting in on the action too and if you pre-order the digital version of Super Smash Bros, you’ll be able to preload the game so that you can play almost immediately after the game is launched on November 21 in the US and November 28 in the UK.
We say ‘almost’ as you won’t be able to preload the entire game. Nintendo has let everyone know exactly how to preload Super Smash Bros on Wii U, by following a choice of three steps.
You can either, pre-purchase the game from Nintendo’s website, purchase the game from the eShop directly on the Wii U, or you can choose to buy a digital copy of the game from brick and mortar stores such as GameStop.
All three options will present you with a download code, to which you will then be able to start preloading the Super Smash Bros files on Wii U. Once you have finished pre-loading, you will have to wait until launch and then install a small title update – then you are good to go!
Remember that this is the very first preload title on Wii U, so there is a lot of pressure on Nintendo to get it right – it will obviously pave the way for future Wii U titles to use this facility as well, such as The Legend of ZeLda Wii U.
The question is, will you be pre-loading the game? Give us your reaction to this below and if you have already obtained your download code. Are you preloading right now?
