The bridge camera market has taken a jump in recent years, this is because people are not overly happy with compact cameras, but do not want to make the jump to DSLR because of their size, and also far too many settings and features to get used to. These camera types are very similar to the DSLR in terms of shape, although they are slightly smaller and often far easier to use, with the Canon PowerShot SX520 HS being a fine example.
We seemed to have missed out on offering a Canon PowerShot SX520 HS 16.0-Megapixel Digital Camera in Black review, especially as it is fairly new for 2014 and succeeds the SX510 HS, which was showing signs if age. The company has had to up its game because if increased pressure from the likes of Panasonic, Samsung and Sony, and from what we can see this new model looks set to be come very popular, especially with the busy holiday shopping season looming.
Specs – 16-megapixel, 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor, 42x optical and 4x digital zoom, with a total of 168x zoom when put together. There is also a 3-inch color TFT-LCD, High-definition movie mode, DIGIC 4+ image processor, Optical image stabilization, 32 predefined shooting modes, and High-speed autofocus.
Reviews – We have come across three reviews for you, all of which are videos. The first is an unbxong from back in September, which gives you a chance to see what comes inside the box. The second video is just a simple review of some of the features, while the third is more informative because it is a Canon Powershot SX400IS vs, SX520HS, which is ideal if you have been thinking of getting either model and wanted to know their differences.
Are you in the market for a new camera, if so are you going for a compact, bridge or DSLR?
