Back in September it was reported that some 2014 Toyota models and 2015 Lexus vehicles were going to be recalled in November. Well the 2014 Toyota Avalon, Camry, Highlander and Sienna, as well as the 2015 Lexus RX350 recalls begin today, November 3rd. Just to refresh your memory, the reason for the recall is due to a possible fuel leak from one of the duel delivery pipes.
If the issue is left unresolved there is a risk of fire within the engine compartment, and so it is finally good to see action happening, well as far as we know. This is because Lexus and Toyota were meant to start bringing affected vehicles in for repair, but as yet we do not have confirmation of this.
When you do get notified from the dealer, they will replace the faulty fuel delivery pipe if needed for free, which we do not expect to take very long, and so you should not be inconvenienced for too long.
If you have not been contacted and are worried that you may have been missed, as you have an affected model, then you can always call Toyota customer service on 1-800-331-4331. If you are unable to get through, then you can also call the NHTSA on -888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
Do you have a Avalon, Camry, Highlander and Sienna or RX350 that is being recalled, if so have you been contacted to have yours repaired yet?
