PlayStation App 2.0.7 update live

By Alan Ng - Oct 28, 2014

We are waiting for Sony to go live with the exciting PS4 2.0 update, but now we can see that they are making the first preparations for this with the app. The PlayStation app 2.0.7 update for Android and iPhone has just gone live and you should be able to download it right now.

Once you have downloaded it, the big change you will notice is that there is a brand new layout to enjoy. That means a complete redesign for the homepage which should now be a lot easier to navigate through.

For tablet owners specifically, you’ll be pleased to hear that Sony has now listened for the calls to have an optimized experience when using a tablet. Install the update for iPad and you should see a brand new layout which looks fantastic on the bigger screen.

We’re yet to fully analyse the update, but first impressions are that it looks like a solid update indeed and one which you should all appreciate. However, we still see that the app is redirecting users to external websites when using the PS Store or Streams, rather than having it all integrated within the app – let’s hope that this feature is planned for the next update.

The PlayStation App 2.0.7 update should be live on iPhone and Android in your area now. Have you downloaded it yet? If so, give us your first impressions below compared to the previous version.
