Alienware Graphics Amplifier, substantial laptop gaming performance

By Peter Chubb - Oct 28, 2014

We have seen time and again how you purchase a new gaming laptop with the most up-to-date graphics available at the time, only to become obsolete in a few years time. However, help is at hand with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier, which promises to deliver a substantial performance upgrade for your gaming laptop.

We already saw something very similar to this with the MSI graphics card dock, and so it was rather obvious that Alienware wanted in on the action, especially as they are said to be at the forefront of gaming on laptops and desktops. These two devices really are very similar, although we will still take a look at what makes the new Graphics Amplifier from Alienware tick.

Alienware Graphics Amplifier specs: You have the choice of 4K NVIDIA or AMD enabled graphics via its PCIe x4 slots, along with an overlocked CPU to deliver an insane performance. You will also be able to connect the box to dual monitors and there is support for 4 USB 3.0 ports.

The big box of tricks is designed to work with the new Alienware 13 laptop, and is said to cost $299 once available for purchase. We have looked on the Alienware website to see when it will become available to buy, but they have yet to inform us of this. What we do find strange is that certain websites say the Alienware Graphics Amplifier can already be ordered, which we do not think is true, not at the time of writing this anyway.
