BMW, Ford and Mazda recall check for October 2014

The NHTSA has made a plea to 6.1 million car owners to make certain their car is not affected by this latest round of airbag recalls. Just two days ago the number was 4.7 million, but had to be increased by another 1.4 million vehicles. We have already listed the 10 car manufacturers that are affected by this further setback, three of which are BMW, Ford and Mazda.

We already informed you that it is Honda that makes up the majority of these recalls, and so we thought we would give you more details on a BMW, Ford and Mazda recall check by model for October 2014.

BMW recall check for October 2014

BMW airbag recall list – The models affected for October 2014 are the 2000–2005 3 Series Sedan, 2000–2006 3 Series Coupe, 2000–2005 3 Series Sports Wagon, 2000–2006 3 Series Convertible, 2001 2006 M3 Coupe and the 2001 2006 M3 Convertible. There does seem to be a pattern there. All of these mount up to a total recall number of 627,615, and to check your car enter your BMW’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) here.

Ford airbag recall list – There are not as many models included in the Ford recall, although still not great news is it. The models affected are the 2004 Ranger, 2005–2006 GT, and the 2005–2007 Mustang, with a total of 58,669 units being recalled. Look up your Ford VIN to see if it is included in these recalls.

Mazda airbag recall list – Mazda is to recall 64,872 models because of this Takata airbag recall, the models of which consist of the 2003–2007 Mazda6, 2006–2007 MazdaSpeed6, 2004–2008 Mazda RX-8, 2004–2005 MPV, and the 2004 B-Series Truck. You can search for Mazda recalls by VIN on the official page.
