Improving GoPro Hero 4 battery life capabilities

By Peter Chubb - Oct 5, 2014

The GoPro Hero 4 was introduced last week and so finally put all of those rumors to bed. The new model is a vast improvement over previous versions of the action camera, and in time we will have a GoPro Hero 4 vs Hero 3 for real life performance video review to share. While GoPro made a point of saying the new Black model has two times the performance over its predecessor, they do not mention if this would impact battery life, and so we will come to learn this in time.

However, with improvements made to the hardware and software we suspect battery life will be rather similar. Having said that, there are ways to improve the GoPro Hero 4 battery life capabilities.

GoPro Hero 4 battery life

Firstly, you can increase the footage you can take by purchasing a spare 1160mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which is compatible with the HERO4 Black or HERO4 Silver action cameras. That way you can always have a spare battery on standby, the price of this is £15.99 in the UK and $19.99 in the US.

It’s all very well having two batteries, but only being able to charge them one at a time might not be ideal for you, and so there is a solution. We have also found another GoPro HERO4 accessory that could come in handy, and that is the Dual Battery Charger + Battery.

This is the only GoPro battery charger that allows you to charge two batteries at once, and to make things even easier it offers USB support, meaning you can use most standard USB power adapters. It comes with the same 1160mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery as above and once available will cost £39.99 in the UK and $49.99 in the US.

We do hope you have fun with your new action camera, and these two accessories will help to improve your experience with it.

How to double the lifetime of tires on your car. First, buy four more of the exact same tire. Next alternate the new and original tires every day. Believe it or not, this may help you double the life expectancy of your original tires. Notice: this assumes you drive the exact same distance everyday. I assume no responsibility, this study +/- 1mile accuracy.

that’s a little silly saying to improve battery life, you can buy an extra battery and charger. as if that wasnt obvious enough that buying batteries will get you more time. In other news. How to have more food in your ref? Buy more food.
