Walmart’s iPad Air price trumps others before Air 2

Walmart has the lowest iPad Air price right now, if you are considering a purchase in the US before the iPad Air 2 upgrade arrives in October. This means that now could not be a perfect time to purchase Apple’s current tablet – well unless you wait for end of stock promotions from stores, although you run the risk of stock running out.

The savings that can be made on the iPad Air at Walmart ahead of the iPad 2 being released is $50 over rival stores. For the 16GB Wi-Fi only version you will pay $449 in white or silver.

Target is selling the very same model in silver or white for $499, although you can save $25 off Microsoft Office 356 for the iPad. To round things off, Best Buy is also selling the 16GB iPad without 3G for the same price as Target.

This means that Target and Best Buy sell the iPad Air for the same price as the Apple Store, and so it would be of greater benefit to go with the Walmart deal, but hurry because it will not be on offer for long.

We have come across some tweets that hint at the iPad Air 2 coming with Touch ID and Apple Pay, which we had already assumed. However, as to not get confused, the latter feature is for purchasing things through apps and not to use like NFC.

It is hard to say whether Apple Pay will become popular with iOS users, we guess only time will tell with that one.
