Carrot Fit app for iOS 8 with Apple’s HealthKit

By Peter Chubb - Sep 30, 2014

The Carrot Fit iOS app has received an update so that it now supports iOS 8, which means it is one of Apple’s HealthKit supported apps. This means getting in shape will now be even easier, well as easy as it can be when working out.

What makes this app so different is how Carrot Fit makes getting into shape fun, something that I wish my history lessons at school were back in the 70s and 80s.

Version 3.1.1 new features – You will need to make certain you have iOS 8.0.2 downloaded to your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, as this is the only version that supports HealthKit integration. This will allow you to monitor your activity and sync your workout data. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus and has a dedicated iPad view.

Other new features include a step counter that acts as a pedometer, which will level up every time you reach a new goal. If you do not do as well, then you will receive a punishment, this includes calorie shaming alerts, ads and more.

There are reports that some iOS 8 users have had problems with this app, if so all you need to do is go to Settings, Accessibility and Speech. Just turn Speak Screen on, which will give you an option for Voices and Language. The final thing you have to do is download the Enhanced Quality voice for English US.
