The BMW M3 beater, the Mercedes C63 (now officially named the Mercedes-AMG C63) has had some of its most important details shared on its German website. What we actually get to see are some of the more important features, such as interior technology, but it is the spec sheet of the even more powerful S saloon and hatchback that has us most interested.
The model without the S in it is no slouch though, so ideal if you wish to save yourself a little bit of money, but not sacrifice on the performance too much. The standard Mercedes-AMG C63 has a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed limited to 155 mph, which is thanks to its 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine producing 469 horsepower and 479lb ft of torque.
The S version prodcues 503 horsepower and 516lb ft. of torque, which is more than enough to notice a difference on the track, but pointless for normal use on the roads. However, even with that star grunt, it’s top speed is still limited.
What surprises us is how good the fuel-economy is for the Mercedes-AMG C63 S model, with figures between 33-34mpg. We could go on, but there are plenty of details to read through over on PistionHeads.
