Apple TV 4K support with new 4G partners needed

The current generation Apple TV has the same design since September 2010, and so is screaming out for an update. There was another refresh since it got this design, although its hardware has not had the leap in features that you and I would have expected.

Apple 4K support vs. design – Like the Mac mini, there has been many rumors that their designs could change, although most users would rather the design stay the same and Apple concentrate more on features, such as processing, storage and more importantly, 4K content on the Apple TV 4th generation.

While it would be nice to see an Aluminum design, Apple would be far better off concentrating on technology, as the lack of 4K support is putting some people off and people feel Apple is being left behind because we know they have the means to do so.

Let’s say for one moment that the Apple TV 4G did come with 4K support, then Apple would need to have the partners to provide such content.

There are three options available to Apple at this time, well the ones that matter. Those are, Amazon Prime, Netflix 4K streaming, and Sony’s 4K download service. The latter is the only likely possibility, as the other two have their own content, along 4K players.

Don’t expect a new Apple TV in 2014 though, as we have heard on many occasions that Apple will leave it until early 2015 to update its set-top box.

They could surprise us and offer us a sneak peak of what to expect during the iPad event, just like they did with its Watch device earlier this month during the iPhone 6 event.
