After some confusion about the Cartoon HD app not working within iOS 8 our developer has sent us some photos to prove everything is just fine right now. They took screenshots featuring the Cartoon HD Pro app without any problems and installed on an iPhone 6 Plus, although this was just for testing purposes only to finally reveal there’s no problems with Cartoon HD on an iPhone 6 Plus, iPad mini, and iPhone 5 all running iOS 8.
Our developer previously revealed Cartoon HD was working in an early iOS 8 beta, and then Product Reviews highlighted recent tweets suggesting the app no longer worked once you upgraded to iOS 8 public version. Our developer thought this was strange, especially considering it worked in the Gold Master of iOS 8, which is basically the final version.
Proof Cartoon HD is not closed and works in iOS 8 – You can see screenshots of iOS 8 running the Cartoon HD Pro app on an iPhone 6 Plus within this page. Our developer wanted to prove a couple of things, which include the fact Cartoon HD is no longer closed as it should be and the reports of this app not working in iOS 8 are incorrect.
The Cartoon HD Pro download link used was found with a simple search on Twitter and we must warn you our developer didn’t mind trying this on a test device. Any installs on your daily used iOS device would be at your own risk, as you can see in the screenshot below you’d be using an “Untrusted App Developer”. This is thanks to Cartoon HD not being approved for the Apple App Store, so you’ll receive a warning before installing.
Our developer run tests to see if the Cartoon HD app had truly been closed. He found everything working fine on not only the iPhone 6 Plus, but also a number of other devices including an iPad mini first generation and iPhone 5. The moment he opened Cartoon HD on iOS 8 it reveals the same developer message seen on the Twitter Gapp Center page, also found on gappcenter.com, which basically promotes a new application is on the way and asks for your email. Clicking “Cancel” on this message allows you to enter the app.
Bottom-line: From what we can tell, the Cartoon HD app was ordered to shut down and it did for a short time, but is now working again and even within Apple’s recently released iOS 8 operating system. Movies are also streaming fine and we wonder if this is a glitch while the developer creates their new application, or something else. One thing is for sure, the Cartoon HD app keeps going down and coming back up again, so this highlights some sort of development taking place.
