Amazon updated its Kindle product line yesterday, one of which was the 2014 edition of the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, and while it may not be the most popular product announced yesterday, it does have the highest specs. There have been several improvements to its design, along with the hardware.

The new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 inch model is thinner and 20 percent lighter than the iPad Air. Amazon believes that its newest, and most powerful Kindle Fire tablet offers an alternative to those who were thinking of getting an iPad Air, and while they may have a point, we have to wait and see what Apple has to offer next month when they update the iPad line.

Kindle Fire HDX changes – The is a new ultrafast quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, which will allow you to open apps much faster and improves multitasking. Amazon suggests that graphics offer console quality, although we find that very hard to believe. However, with the Adreno 420 graphics processor delivering a 70 percent performance improvement, this new tablet should give rival devices something to worry about.
