The iPhone 6 pre-order time in the USA and UK has been set, although in some cases unofficially. You can expect to be able to purchase a new iPhone 6 and larger Plus edition the moment we enter September 12th in the UK at midnight.
Orders are expected to start from 12:01am at Apple’s online store in the UK, although it’s unclear if you will need to visit an O2 UK store on Sept 19th or if they will be taking pre-orders tonight. EE is planning on taking pre-orders tomorrow from 8am, although Giffgaff, Three, and Vodafone aren’t so clear about their plans.
It looks like the US iPhone 6 pre-order time is 12:01am PT at AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and Apple’s Store. You can see the prices on Apple’s Store above and below for either UK or USA. The reason they’re very different isn’t just thanks to taxes and currencies, but also thanks to USA being on contract and UK fully unlocked.
There’s an option to buy iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus contract-free with T-Mobile USA on Apple’s official store.
In a nutshell: If you are happy to purchase off contract in the UK, then head to Apple’s online store at just gone midnight tonight. In the United States you can head to Apple’s Store and choose between Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint or head to the stores directly.
Update: It looks like the UK might be getting exactly the same release time as USA, so this is going to create massive demand on the Apple systems if all going live at the same time. That would be 8:01am UK and 12:01am PST, which would mean UK and US pre-orders will hit Apple at the same time.
