Apple TV Special Event icon live for 2014

By Daniel Chubb - Sep 9, 2014

The Special Events icon is now live on Apple TV for the September 9, 2014 event. This means you will get to see a high definition live video stream during the keynote today directly on apple.com and their TV box, as we’ve seen many years before. You can see a screenshot of the Apple TV Special Event icon and details before a live stream starts for 2014 in the photo below.

As with each year, the icon follows the invitation theme and this continues once you click the events app for more details. Something a little different this year is the integration of a countdown, and we believe this is the first year Apple has included a countdown directly on Apple TV within the special events app.

You should tune in at 10AM Pacific Time and 6PM UK time to watch the event live on Apple TV. This year, the venue is taking place at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts, in Cupertino. As you can see in the screenshot, there’s just over 3 hours to go until the live keynote video coverage starts but this will likely be a shorter time once you read this article.

If you want to make the time pass faster, then we’d recommend watching one of the previous events that are listed on Apple TV as well. This includes WWDC and September events.
