Pokken Tournament Pokemon list, Tekken features

By Alan Ng - Sep 4, 2014

There is a very exciting game on the way to Wii U soon, with Pokken Tournament merging Pokemon with Tekken in the most usual but exciting mash-up that we have seen in recent years.

Nintendo is obviously willing to mix it up a bit to win over fans, with Pokken Tournament coming after the announcement of Hyrule Warriors – another Nintendo mash-up that will mix Zelda and Dynasty Warriors together.

Little details are known of Pokken Tournament so far, but Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada has been providing progress updates on the game via his Twitter account. We now know that the game is only 30% completed, meaning that there is still a very long time to wait until we see Pokken Tournament ready in a playable state.

We are hoping that it doesn’t go down the same pattern as the missing Tekken X Street Fighter game that appears to have vanished off the face of the earth. Harada meanwhile is keeping his sense of humor in tact by confirming that Pokken Tournament will NOT feature all 750 Pokemon – as that would be quite some task.

He adds that the game will be a lot more limited but left the possibility of some hidden Tekken features wide open. We used to love the mini-games that were included with Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 on PlayStation, imagine if we ended up with a Tekken Force Mode style mode in Pokken Fighters but with Pokemon? It would be absolutely epic.

Since we are a long way from release, give us your ideal Pokken Tournament Pokemon list that you would love to see. Obviously we are going to be seeing the usual suspects such as Pikachu and Charizard, but the trailer showing Machamp should be a good indication that Harada is prepared to throw in some surprise choices.

After all, nobody saw Greninja being included in Super Smash Bros either. Give us your dream wish list below and let us know if you would also love to see some Tekken features in the game.
