Minecraft Xbox One release date just after PS4

By Alan Ng - Sep 3, 2014

The wait is finally over for Xbox One users. Earlier this week we told you that Minecraft PS4 Edition would be available early on Wednesday after PlayStation France let slip the good news before 4J Studios.

Now though, we have the confirmation from Microsoft that you have been waiting for. It looks like the PS4 won’t get too much of a headstart as we can tell you that the Xbox One version of the game will be available on Friday September 5.

Microsoft has just confirmed this in a Tweet which you can see below. It will be available on Friday and just like PS4 you will have the option paying just $4.99 or £3.99 if you have already played the Xbox 360 version of the game.

To all new players though, Minecraft will be $19.99 which isn’t bad at all considering the amount of replay value and never ending content that you’ll be able to play through.

Also we should remind you that any progress that you have on Minecraft 360 will transfer through to the Xbox One version without any problems, this includes any worlds that you have created.

It has been a long wait indeed, are you ready to finally enter the world of Minecraft on your ‘next-gen’ Xbox One console? Let us know which version you will be buying and what kind of worlds that you have ready to transfer.
