Di Maria Man Utd transfer to FIFA within hours

Just when you thought that Balotelli to Liverpool was the biggest transfer of the week, along come Manchester United once again to spoil the party. A deal has been reached with regards to the Di Maria Man Utd transfer from Real Madrid, with a reported £59.7m sealing the deal as a British transfer record.

We told you hours ago that EA had transferred Balotelli to Liverpool on FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, just hours after Liverpool FC made the news official. It’s great to see EA keeping up with real-time transfers and now we fully expect them to once again update FIFA 14 when the Di Maria to Manchester United deal goes live too.

At the moment, the news is not official as Manchester United have not made an announcement on their website. We have a feeling that this will happen at any moment though, meaning that FIFA 14 players should expect EA to follow suit in the evening UK time.

We can already see social media buzzing about the impending arrival of the player as you can see from our included Tweets above. Even one user is offering free copies of FIFA 15 to everyone in exchange for Retweets, but we doubt that they’ll actually stick to the deal now that it’s about to go live.

As for Di Maria’s FIFA 15 rating on Manchester United, we fully expect EA to upgrade the player to an 87 from his default 86 card. He had a great season for Real Madrid and a good World Cup for Argentina so we think it will happen – definitely no downgrade on the cards, that’s for sure.

As a daily FIFA player, what is your reaction now that you’ll be able to play as Di Maria on Man Utd’s FIFA squad very soon? We’ll let you know once EA goes live with their revised transfer update – it should actually appear in this Google Doc.
