Shadowgate review divides opinion

By Alan Ng - Aug 25, 2014

Have you had a chance to download Shadowgate on PC yet? The game has just launched on Steam and it’s actually a remake of a classic Shadowgate game that initially released back in 1987 on the Apple Macintosh.

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign though, the game is back at the forefront now and available to play via Steam for $17.99, which is actually with a 10% discount until August 28.

The Shadowgate reviews have been somewhat mixed so far though from what we’ve seen. One in particular from IGN awards the game with a 6.4 score only, with the site saying that the game is ‘brutally unfair’ and features a ‘poor interface’.

Having said that, the user reviews on Metacritic have been a lot more favourable with users leaving various positive feedback which states the complete opposite to what IGN has said.

We think that Shadowgate is going to be one of those games which you may need to play yourself, rather than listen to the critics before deciding whether or not to buy.

Have you been waiting for this game and don’t mind seeing the low scores that critics have published so far? Let us know if you will be playing Shadowgate this week thanks to the discounted price.
