We know that Metal Gear Solid 5 is looking very impressive so far from what we have seen at E3 and GamesCom, but now Konami has revealed Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain multiplayer for the first time and we think you’ll be surprised with the result.
Kojima Productions gave fans a glimpse of what we can expect to see in terms of multiplayer and you may be surprised to hear that it could be offered in the same mould as Clash of Clans.
By this we’re talking about player bases protecting and attacking against other bases, with specific emphasis on stealth and tactics as we’ve become accustomed to seeing with the series down the years.
We have included the first MGS 5 Phantom Pain multiplayer gameplay that was provided by IGN below and we are very eager to see what you think. Pay attention and you’ll see that players will have the ability to capture enemy soldiers and even convert them over to your side to boost numbers without having to pay extra resources.
You’ll also be able to return ‘stolen’ tech equipment as well back to your side and you can see this showcased with the amusing animations and soldier cries during the video.
It actually looks very solid and we like the idea of Kojima and co offering something different for a change and away from the traditional deathmatch format which we’re guessing a lot of you are sick to death of seeing.
Enjoy the gameplay below, the multiplayer portion starts at around the 17 minute mark. Watch it and give us your initial impressions of Phantom Pain multiplayer – are you impressed or not?
