Microsoft has confirmed they are having problems with Xbox Live social and gaming today, especially with matchmaking in the likes of Battlefield 4 thanks to the servers down due to maintenance. The latest Xbox Live Status alert reveals further details about the outage and specific issues, which include maintenance with their BF4 partner and we’ve seen this also confirmed by a tweet from DICE.
You can see a screenshot of the Xbox Live Status page below that also highlights problems with Xbox Tournaments being limited at this time as well. In regard to that issue, Microsoft explain they are having problems with the Xbox Tournaments app. Apparently, their World Gaming partner has disabled the app on Xbox temporarily and this is why it isn’t working today.
The enhanced version of the Xbox Tournaments app will be released soon with full update improvements expected as well. Again, you can see the full message within the screenshot.
Back to the Battlefield 4 server problems, you can see the said tweet below from DICE that arrived on the official BF4 Twitter page.
Starting 8AM UTC, BF4 server maintenance will be rolling out on all platforms. Multiplayer will be unavailable for a few hours due to this.
