Kyocera Brigadier vs Hydro Life and Bear Grylls

By Updated on

There are two challenges that the Kyocera Brigadier has, the first is to see how it compares to the Hydro Life, and the second is to see how it can cope with the many tests that survivalist Bear Grylls puts it through. We know that the latter is all to do with marketing, but we have to admire just how tough the Brigadier is.

‪Kyocera Brigadier vs Kyocera Hydro Life‬ – this video looks at how the two compare in terms of their specs. Both phones are Military Standard 810G, although the former is IP68-certified and the latter IP57.

Both have a 4.5-inch display, although the Brigadier has a resolution of 720 x 1028 compared to 540 x 960. Sticking with the screen, the latest handset from Kyocera has Sapphire glass compared to scratch-resistant glass.

As for the processors, you have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 compared to a 200 chip. You can watch the first video for a closer look at each of these phones specs.

What interests us the most is how Bear Grylls has put his name to the Kyocera Brigadier, as there are a few videos in which he proves to us just how tough this new handset is. The first promotional video only shows a glimpse of Grylls, as this is more about the Brigadier and what it has to offer in terms of features.

However, the other video has a little more of him in it, with the next showing him running and then revealing that he has one of Kyocera’s new tough phones strapped to the bottom of his shoe.

It is in the final video that we get to see Bear Grylls put the Kyocera Brigadier through it paces and if we can believe this marketing campaign, then this is certainly one of the toughest, rugged phones on the market.
