We have already been treated to several spy shots of the new Hyundai i20, along with an official sketch to give us a better idea of its exterior design. However, it was a recent shot of the interior that seems to have fuelled excitement even more, along with news that its full name will be the Hyundai Elite i20.
Hyundai Elite i20 price expectation in India – We don’t have too long to wait to find out because its launch date is on August 11th, which is a week today, although we are still interested to know how much Indian drivers will be charged for the new model.
From what we can make out we expect the price for the new i20 will be Rs 5-7.5 lakh ex-showroom, which is around Rs 25,000 more than the current model. This converts to less that $409, which isn’t too bad when you consider the change in exterior and interior design.
Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy – You can clearly see that Hyundai has made full use of its new design process, and that alone is worth the extra Rs 25,000, as it makes the new Elite i20 that much closer to its german rivals in terms of style. KIA has also made huge strides in terms of its design, as I was driving down the road the other day and saw this beautiful looking car coming towards me, and it was only when the car got closer that myself and a friend could tell it was actually a KIA Optima.
Hyundai has yet to reveal any details as to the new i20 tech specs, but we do know the current 1.2 and 1.4-liter engines will return, although we assume thy would have been tuned to make them more refined and offer a little more performance.
