New Hyundai i20 exterior revealed, skips tech specs

The new Hyundai i20 is not due to be unveiled until the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October, but for those who cannot wait, two new images have been released giving us an idea of what to expect. These renderings are based on the cars official design, and we have to say Hyundai keeps up with its tradition of first-class design that you would expect from the likes of Audi.

Second-generation Hyundai i20 exterior – It comes as no surprise that the design of the exterior is the work of the team working at Rüsselsheim, Germany, with the new design process dubbed Fluidic Sculpture 2.0.

The renders show the front-side and rear-side views and you will see the hexagonal grille that we are now used to seeing on Hyundai’s latest vehicles, there is also a new horizontal strip that connects each headlamp to each other.

As for the rear window, this reminds me of a three-door Astra or even a Focus come to that, which is a surprise seeing as though the i20s intended market is the Ford Fiesta and VW Polo. What we would really love to see is a look at the cars interior, as we expect Hyundai would have made radical changes to help bring it right up to date with the competition, or even exceed it. Now all we need to see is details on some of the Hyundai i20 tech specs.

What I will be interested to see is how Hyundai prices the new i20 because if the i10 is anything to go by it could be very ambitious. Gone are the days where you can pick up a brand-new Hyundai for a fraction of the price as its rivals, although you can’t expect to pay anything like the prices as before seeing as though the company has made huge strides in design and build quality.
