Nokia and Microsoft are preparing to launch their next big phone and evidence suggests it could be dubbed as the Microsoft Selfie phone. We’ve already heard about this device as it’s thought to be the same Nokia Lumia ‘Superman’ phone which had been the subject of speculation in recent weeks.
Now we know that it is definitely on the way and Microsoft has even revealed it early in an internal meeting this week. While we are expecting it to be a Nokia Lumia sequel to the 720, it looks like social media is doing their part in ensuring that the device is officially called the Selfie phone among consumers.
The reason for it, is that Nokia is building a device which for the first time features its main camera on the front rather than the back. It’s going to be a 5MP sensor built into a 4.7-inch device – those are the only confirmed details so far, but rumored Selfie phone specs also could include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU and Adreno 305 graphics.
Given the buzz this year with taking selfies, we can’t wait to see what Nokia and Microsoft come up, especially given Nokia’s expertise when it comes to delivering unrivalled camera quality on mobile phones.
The phone is reportedly due out sometime in August, so the countdown is on to the release date and indeed an official unveiling from Microsoft.
If you are somebody who loves to take a selfie each day, would you be interested in buying this phone over say, the iPhone 6 and upcoming Galaxy phones from Samsung?
