LG 105UC9 105-inch 4K TV pre-orders live, US to follow

By Updated on

With Samsung having released its 105-inch Ultra HD TV it was only a matter of time before its closest rival followed, and so were not shocked to hear that pre-orders for the LG 105UC9 105-inch 4K TV had now gone live. Before you get too excited, availability is limited to just South Korea for the moment, although we are assured that other markets, such as the US will follow soon, LG suggests the fourth quarter.

If this is the case, then it will be interesting to see just how well LG 105UC9 sales are in the US and UK and the rest of Europe over the busy Holiday season, although don’t expect to see these in any doorbuster specials during Black Friday at the end of November.

Paying the price – The LG 105UC9 105 Curved Ultra HD TV costs 120 million won, which converts to $117,000 and while this is $3,000 cheaper than the Samsung equivalent, it’s a long way off the MSRP of $70,000 that was hinted during CES.

For that money you do get a TV that is at the top of the food chain, or one of the top anyway. Some of the specifications are truly amazing, such as 11 million pixels with a resolution of 5,120 x 2,160 and an aspect ratio of 21:9, all of which helps to add to the immersive experience.

If you currently have a HD TV at home and think you are more than happy with the quality, then you will think again once you experience the high-level of sharpness and clarity with its superior picture quality and striking virtual surround sound, thanks to its 7.2 channel systems that pumps out 150W of sound.

How much do you think the LG 105UC9 will cost once it hits the shores of the US, $70,000 or more like $117,000?
