New Uncharted 4 trailer, gameplay to emphasize story evolution

By Updated on

Even though the Uncharted 4 release date will not be this year, it is finally nice to be getting small bits of information from Naughty Dog. We have already been treated to two trailers now, the last of which was seen at E3, and with GamesCom 2014 less than 3 weeks away, this would be the perfect time to see a new Uncharted 4 trailer or gameplay footage released.

We already know that another trailer or some gameplay footage will be coming soon, as Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann was taking part in a Q&A session during SDCC 2014, which we have a video of below. We have started the video pretty much at the point where the discussion turns to Uncharted 4, and at first Druckmann struggles to get the words out in fear of giving away too much information.

Uncharted 4 to emphasize story evolution – Once Druckmann managed to compose himself he was able to start sharing tidbits of information, and we were interested in learning that the developers are to evolve the story of Nathan Drake, and this was evident in the second trailer, as it would suggest that Nathan has lost his way and will have to get his confidence back.

The past three games has seen the main protagonist be a very confident man, and so seeing the story evolve into one where he will no doubt have to fight at getting his poise back will make for a far more exciting storyline, especially when it sees an antagonist seeking revenge.

New Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End details may not be a trailer – but rather gameplay instead. We only assume that Naughty Dog will release a third trailer, but they could shock us all and treat us to some Uncharted 4 gameplay footage instead during GamesCom 2014 next month. Which of the two would you rather, another trailer or gameplay?
