Crimson Dragon Xbox One review, mixed reaction

By Alan Ng - Jul 28, 2014

Just hours ago we told you that Crimson Dragon would be the main game that is offered as part of the Games with Gold August update on Xbox One. Now, we offer up a quick heads-up to those that are looking for a Crimson Dragon Xbox One review with a fantastic let’s play walkthrough that we have picked out for you.

Crimson Dragon has been available on the Xbox One since launch and with a usual price of $19.99, Microsoft has decided to give it away for free with the Xbox One Games with Gold update on August 1.

The game is a shooter and if you haven’t heard, is actually the spiritual successor to the Panzer Dragoon series. It also has Yukio Futatsugi in charge of the game who is the same person who handled the original Panzer Dragoon games.

Players will be able to ride and control dragons, whilst levelling them up during your adventure by feeding them food which you’ll pick up during missions.

We have seen that the reviews are mixed for this game however though, with a 6/10 from Game Informer and a 56 metascore on Metacritic with an average 6.6 user score.

Free is free though and it’s another solid game to add to your Xbox One game collection. Remember that the game is yours to keep as well, even if you stop your Xbox Live Gold subscription.

We’ve picked out a Let’s Play Crimson Dragon Xbox One gameplay review for you below, giving you an exact idea of how the game will look when you download it yourself on August 1.

It also features the intro to the game so take a look and let us know if you are impressed with this game that will be part of the Games with Gold update.

  • It should be about the games

If you stop your Live Gold subscription you will NOT be able to play the game. This article states that you will. Also, I was hoping for something more substantial this time around. AC Black Flag or Tomb Raider would have been a good choice. I don’t know what PS+ is offering but it’s probably better.
