New Windows Phone 8 support for old Xbox games

By Updated on

When Windows Phone was first released it was not exactly the most popular platform when it came to supported devices, although this was to be expected. However, seeing as though this platform was said to be so easy to develop on, the apps soon started to flow, and what mobile gamers really wanted was support for some of the older Xbox titles.

If you have Windows Phone 8 or 8.1 handset, then you might not know this, but some more of these older Xbox titles have been given a new lease of life, well almost 40 in fact.

As you can see in this huge list of Xbox games for WP you will see some old favorites. Some of them may not be to your liking, but we are sure titles like Halo: Spartan Assault will be.

Having looked through the list there are certainly some obscure titles, with ones many of you would never have heard of. However, it is these obscure ones that often provide the most fun, and so you should most definitely give them a try.

We doubt this improved game support will see an uptake in people converting to Windows Phone, but at least it is good to see current users have even greater choice.

Do you think it is the right to add older games to this platform and give them a much-needed update, or would you rather see some new games brought into the mix to offer a greater choice to the mobile gamer?
