There is not too long to wait until the covers will be taken off the second generation Hyundai i20, but until then we have to make do with spy shots, and the 2015 Hyundai i20 has been spied once again, although it still doesn’t give much away. We had hoped to see a little more of its new exterior design, but that was wishful thinking on our part.
Even though we cannot get a good image of the latest design changes from the new spy shot thanks to Autocar, we do know that it has undergone a decent refresh to the exterior and interior.
We expect to see an all-new central infotainment screen along with a redesigned fascia, although the biggest improvements are likely to be in the engine department – they need to be if Hyundai has any hope of the new i20 competing with the Kia Rio and Volkswagen Polo.
There is to be a return to the tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol and 1.1-litre CRDi diesel engines, although there will also be two version of the 1.4-litre CRDi, which offers more power than the standard diesel unit.
However, what model will grab our attention will be the 2015 Hyundai i20 N performance variant, although we don’t expect that will be with us until many months after the release of the standard models.
There’s not really much else we can tell you, and so we will now wait until October, as the all-new i20 will be unveiled during the Paris Motor Show.
