The 2015 Ford Mustang is still due for release in the US later this year, although production had been rumored to start this month, but word has it that this will not happen until September. If this is the case, then we don’t expect people will start to receive their pre-orders until November or December. However, spare a thought for drivers in India, as they have a much longer wait.
We already knew that there was to be a right-hand drive version of the all-new Mustang, but these were set aside for the UK and Australia. Ford officials have said that they do have plans to bring its new muscle car to India; it will just be a little later.
Ford already had plans to bring the Mustang to Sri Lanka next year, and so one would assume India would follow. However, now sources suggest that the 2015 Ford Mustang launch in India will be delayed to 2016, meaning a two-year delay.
We cannot verify how much truth there is in this, but seeing as sales for Ford vehicles have slowed in India, it would make sense for the company to test the market first, as well as see how popular the next generation Mustang is received in other parts of the world.
Having said that, Ford is still optimist and believes sales will grow by at least 60 to 70 percent over the next 6 years, and so maybe they are biding their time until the time is right to release the next-gen Ford Mustang in India?
