While PS4 and Xbox One owners are looking forward to Assassin’s Creed Unity later this year, it looks like Ubisoft are almost ready to reveal how they plan to fill the Assassin’s Creed gap on PS3 and Xbox 360.
We think it’s great that next-gen gamers are getting a new Assassin’s Creed game which is unique to their consoles, but it’s also nice to see Ubisoft still willing to provide for those that don’t want to upgrade yet.
The game that everyone is talking about is called Assassin’s Creed Comet although Ubisoft are not willing to reveal it by name though. What we do know though is that this game is going to be arriving at the same time as Unity, which means a release in October.
If that is the case, then Ubisoft doesn’t have long to start their marketing bandwagon for the game and ensure that old-gen users are kept happy. There’s no danger of Ubisoft themselves forgetting this, as we remind you of a recent statement made by Ubisoft’s Tony Key:
“We haven’t forgotten about our loyal Assassin’s Creed fans on those systems. Assassin’s Creed has a ton of fans that don’t have a next-gen system so we’ll do out best to take care of them. As soon as we have something to talk about, we will. The idea that there are still millions of people playing on current gen is not lost on us.”
Does the idea of Comet excite you though, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners? Rumors are suggesting that it could be a continuation of Black Flag and the hero may have already been outed as someone called Shay.
If you are a big Assassin’s Creed fan, give us your thoughts on this as we wait for Ubisoft to drop the details.
