It has been a long time coming, but PC gamers and developers alike will soon have the chance to get their hands on the newest version of Kinect. Microsoft is releasing Kinect 2.0 for Windows this month although the price to pay for this standalone accessory may shock you a little.
As most of you are well aware, Microsoft recently made a big move when they announced that the price of the Xbox One will be $399 without a Kinect camera. We all know that when it was forced, it was a $399 package but Microsoft has since been relaxed on gamers needing to own the Kinect as a necessity.
Now, Kinect 2.0 is coming to PC but it is going to be $200 if you want it. That is fairly expensive when you consider that $100 can get you a brand new Xbox One console.
However, the potentials with a 3D camera in terms of modded PC games like Skyrim could be exciting for those that really know how to tap into Kinect’s potential.
We’re guessing that some developers are going to jump all over this regardless of the $200 price tag. Head to Microsoft’s website and you’ll see it on sale now with a confirmed release date of July 15.
Is anyone happy to pay $200 for this on July 15 or do you need Microsoft to lower the price first before you consider? If you are a developer out there, let us know what you would intend to do with a Kinect 2.0 camera at your disposal.
