FIFA 14 demo joins EA UFC in cost error

Updated on

If you jumped on your Xbox One today to download the FIFA 14 demo, or EA Sports UFC demo, you might have just done it not expecting a price to come up before downloading. The fact is, EA and Microsoft are currently charging for demos after a system error and some people even downloaded the game with a charge by mistake.

Before confirmation came through about this problem being a system error, we saw a number of blogs looking at how adding a price for demos could work under the right circumstances. Personally, we think this is crazy and most of our readers would have known the moment they’re being charged for a demo that there’s something more going on.

The screenshot you can see above reveals the FIFA 14 demo in the Australia Xbox One store came with a price of just under $7, and this was attached to a tweet that you can see below.

Since the above tweet we’ve seen plenty more, in fact there’s been hundreds of tweets complaining about being charged for a demo on Xbox One.

The confirmation came from an EA Rep, although we’d love to hear from any Product Reviews readers that ended up paying money for the FIFA 14 or UFC demo. Have you managed to get your money back yet, and are you still seeing a cost for demos?
