Last month we told you that HTC had a secret tablet in the works. It’s meant to be called the HTC Volantis and there were some whispers suggesting that it could even be the new Nexus tablet in 2014.
Now, we have another juicy update to being you on this mystery device and it is mouth-watering stuff. Back in the initial leak, we told you that this tablet could be coming with 2GB of RAM.
However, fresh HTC Volantis specs leaks have suggested that the tablet could actually have a jaw-dropping 5GB of RAM instead. We didn’t even know 5GB was possible on a tablet, but those guys over at EVLeaks who are usually spot on with early information – say it’s true.
5GB of RAM is incredible for a tablet and if true, it tells us that it may be connected to Google with such dazzling specs. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet that this is a Nexus tablet, EVLeaks have also mentioned that it may end up as an Android Silver tablet – one of the first of its kind, which would explain why it has an unprecedented amount of RAM.
Other features may include a 8.9 inch display with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, an 8 megapixel rear camera but wait for it, a 5 megapixel front camera which again is very exciting if true.
We also hear about a potential 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor powering the tablet, so these are some truly special specs that we are seeing here.
It sounds like the tablet of dreams – just imagine what 5GB of RAM will mean for gaming performance too, especially if it does come with an NVIDIA set up.
Keep an eye on this tablet for sure – it may blow the iPad Air 2 out of the water. Give us your reaction if the 5GB of RAM spec is true.
