Nintendo has got some fantastic games lined up for the Wii U and one of them is Mario Maker. It is due out in 2015 but was one of the highlights of E3 2014, during Nintendo’s Treehouse which offered live demos.
As the name suggests, Mario Maker is going to allow fans to create their own Mario levels – a dream come true for some after years of waiting. We’re guessing the technology for it to happen is now available and will utilize the GamePad specifically, as Nintendo fanatics look to create the craziest levels possible.
What is amazing about Mario Maker, is that you can instantly switch between old school NES Mario and the more recent Wii U Mario visuals – which is fantastic. All of the tools are there at your disposal for stylus input, ranging from hammer brothers to daring platform jumps to challenge your friends.
To give you an idea of what we mean, we have compiled a series of videos which show off some live demonstrations of Mario Maker in action. These were taken at E3 and also during private events which Nintendo held afterwards.
Watch the insanity as you can literally create a tower of hammer bros for Mario to work through, making the level almost impossible to beat unless you have a mushroom and use the invincible window to sneak past once hit.
The big question is whether all of these levels will be fully available to sharing online, allowing Wii U users to freely jump into your level and try to beat – this will be Nintendo’s challenge to make it seamless and the one area which could make Mario Maker a huge success.
Do you have a feeling that this game is going to be a lot of fun when playing with friends?
