While the life of WebOS has been a short one, it has also been an interesting one seeing as though it has changed hands more than a second-hand vehicle. Now that LG owns the operating system they have big plans for it, which they showed us their intentions during CES at the start of this year.
LG did show off one of its smart TVs running WebOS, although they now say a major upgrade is planned and will include it to its range of new TVs next year.
LG Smart TV lineup for 2015 – WSJ reports that LG has said its range of Smart TVs next year will see a huge upgrade made to WebOS, and while they do not offer many clues as to what to expect, we can be sure that it will be something special, so that it is enough to make Samsung do a double take.
The entire range for next year will not sport the updated operating system, just the high-end models. We are not too sure when LG will unveil these new line of TVs, but we won’t expect it to be too long, especially when you consider Samsung is already working on its 2015 line, which should run on Tizen OS.
